Abigail Beech
Head Coach
Abigail Beech joined Pinnacle Performance Training and Consulting in August 2022, bringing her extensive softball experience and passion for coaching. Her journey in softball began at age four, playing alongside her older brother’s team in Leroy, Alabama. At Leroy High School, she secured the starting shortstop position in seventh grade, holding it for six seasons until graduating in 2019. By the end of her high school career, she set the school’s all-time record for runs batted in, amassing over 280.
After high school, Abigail attended Wallace State Community College-Hanceville, where she primarily played middle infield but also served as left fielder when needed. Despite a season disrupted by COVID-19, she contributed to the team’s remarkable 55-6 record in 2020-2021, winning the Alabama Community College Conference championship. The team advanced to the national tournament in Yuma, Arizona, reaching the quarterfinals.
Upon enrolling at Auburn University, Abigail chose to step away from playing softball to focus on her academic pursuits. However, her love for the sport and teaching led her to offer private hitting and fielding lessons while assisting travel ball and high school teams in preparing for tournaments and playoffs. This experience reignited her passion and inspired her to pursue a coaching career.
In 2023, Abigail graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Science Education and Geology. In January 2024, she joined Dothan High School, teaching Environmental Science and Forensic Science while serving as an assistant varsity softball coach. In July 2024, she transitioned to Baker High School, where she teaches Physical Science, leads as head coach of the girls’ flag football team, heads the Causey Middle School softball team, and assists with the junior varsity and varsity softball teams.
Coach Garris, an Alabama native who has known Abigail since her early playing days, recognized her talent for assessing players’ developmental needs and effectively communicating strategies to enhance their skills. He invited her to join Pinnacle Performance Training and Consulting as a Coach, focused on skills development.
